Jim joined Limeport after a standout career at Southern Lehigh high school as well as Mountainville Legion team (2005). During the 2003 and 2004 legion seasons, Jim batted .399 with 38 RBI. He also earned 5 wins while striking out 57 batters. He led the entire Lehigh Valley League with a .608 average in 2005. He batted in 16 runs while earning 2 victories on the mound with a 2.88 ERA. Jim played in only 9 games (regular season) in 2004 for the Bulls, but he hit .379 with 9 RBI and 7 runs scored. He only struck out twice. Ernst really picked it up during the 2004 playoffs. He hit .429 with 7 RBI while scoring 6 runs. We also walked 4 times while striking out only once. His two homeruns during the first round helped Limeport advance to the semi-finals. |
