September 20, 2006 The old infield has been torn out and lots of dirt has been taken away.  Home plate has been dropped down about 12 inches.  There is no longer a 'lip' around home plate or down the first and third base lines.  It is a flat walk from the dugouts to the plate and mound. New sod was laid on the 21st and it will be cut to exact shape in the next couple of weeks.  The mound will also be rebuilt. A drainage system was also placed under the new infield.
