Joe has emerged as a dominant player in the Tri-County League. He has been a major contributer to the success of Limeport over the past seven years. Joe won the batting title in 2004 with a .563 batting average (highest single season batting average ever in the Tri-County League history). He finished a close second in the League's MVP race that year.
In 2003 Pochron finished with a .476 batting average along with 25 runs scored and 19 R.B.I. In 2002 he led the Tri-County league with 43 runs scored. He also was second in at bats and fifth in hits (52). He is one of only five players to ever collect 50 or more hits for the Limeport Bulls in a single season.
Joe was the starting left fielder for the 2002 and 2004 Tri-County All-Star team and was a member of the 2003 All-Star team. He was also named to play in the Canadian All-Star game at Limeport Stadium.
As well as Pochron has hit during the season, he is even better in the playoffs. During the past five playoff series, Joe has hit .490 with 21 RBI, and 11 runs. In that span, he has 3 HR's, 4 doubles, and 3 triples.
In almost 550 career plate appearances, Joe has only struck out 28 times.
COLLEGE
Joe graduated from Moravian College. He was a Commonwealth Conference All-Star in 1999 and 2000. He is at or near the top in several career standings at Moravian: #2 in doubles, #3 in total bases, #4 in batting average and RBI, #6 in hits and games played, #8 in at bats and home runs. He is also the #4 in strikeouts as a pitcher. He is also near the top in several season categories: #3 in at bats and total bases, and #9 in doubles. He is also 4th in E.R.A. (2.18) and #2 and #3 in strikeouts in a single game (11 and 10).
